The intention of this web site and “Ramblin’ Dan’s 3D Print Design Studio” is to promote creative design thinking and demonstrate how ideas can be changed to tangible creations through the proper application and use of Three-Dimensional Printing systems.
The primary goal is to focus on encouraging and building the design skills and thinking process for young students in the middle to high school age groups who may have a serious and growing desire to make things. 3D printing doesn’t require a full-size workshop. Desktop design to manufacturing is possible. Even in a bedroom.
Developing or promoting hardware is not a goal. We will of course make improvements to, and demonstrate our tools, but it is what is made that is our mission. The name is "... Print Design Studio", not ...Printer Design Studio".
The equipment and materials are now more affordable. Some grade schools are developing curriculum and acquiring 3D printers. Teaching how to make things is returning to academic education. Our mission is to stimulate that educational demand from parents and students by demonstrating the how-to methods and possibilities in a simple home environment.
But all age groups are welcome. The founder is now entering his 7th decade of creativity and wants to also encourage creative seniors (and any age in-between…) in this low impact activity.
Ramblin’ Dan’s 3D Print Design Studio (RD3DPDS) is NOT a for-profit business. It is currently a retirement activity to encourage education and stimulate creative thinking. Some items are sold, to help cover expenses. Many printed items are given away as examples.
